The Environs of Trinity Theatre and Arts Centre, Royal Tunbridge Wells
January 2010 — Trinity Theatre and Arts Centre, the former Holy Trinity Church, is surrounded by Trinity Garden,
the former burial ground and churchyard.
TWBC Parks Department looks after Trinity Grounds with its trees and many tombstones leaning against the stone walls enclosing the disused cemetery (Diocese of Rochester)
Trinity - Board of Directors with Peter Bulman, Chairman
and
Trinity - Staff with Stephen Mason, Chief Executive Officer
— Trinity Garden could be 'the pride and joy' of the town centre of Royal Tunbridge Wells.
As the Government says: "Our open spaces, parks, streets, town centres, and village greens are great assets;
they form the heart of our communities; they should be places where we can all be proud and confident." (July 2004)
? — Why does Trinity Theatre allow artists & technicians to park their cars at the rear of the building, not only on the wide path but on the lawn?
? — Why is it tolerated that irresponsible car owners/drivers abuse the grass area as car turning point or car parking area?
? — Why are no restrictions with regard to parking put in place although Tunbridge Wells Borough Council maintain Trintiy Grounds under the disused cemeteries act?
? — Why does Trinity Theatre not care about its environment, right in front of its doorsteps, although the land belongs to the Diocese of Rochester?
? — Why is no action taken against dog fouling at Trinity Garden after Tunbridge Wells Borough Council put up signs in the neighbourhood and at Trinity Garden giving a clear message that dog fouling will be prosecuted?
? — Why are there no benches available for residents or local employees from the nearby offices to contribute to the realm of Trinity and Environs?
? — Why is the space so uninviting, having only purely functional paths for people as a cut through?
?— Why, after having introduced a mega residential development (Telephone House site) and others in the neighbourhood to follow, is in our time a huge chunk of the surrounding land used only as a commercial car park?
. . . . . . all quite inappropriate for this historic central piece of land with its stone building by Decimus Burton and its commemoration 'magenta plaque' in honour of Canon Edward Hoare, Vicar of Holy Trinity and 'Protestant Pontiff of Tunbridge Wells', and all it has to offer towards a small park in the town centre of Royal Tunbridge Wells.
