10-year forecast outlined in draft plan
A draft document which outlines Tunbridge Wells Borough Council's 10-year forecast for the area is expected to be rubberstamped next week [ Wednesday 23 May 2001 ].
The Local Plan Review Deposit Copy and Transport Strategy will be considered by all members of the council on Wednesday evening. [23 May 2001]
It proposes use of land and development policy and how to conserve best features of the area.
Key role
The public has a key role in the consultation period.
Residents and organisations can feed their opinions into the plans during a six-week period running from July 23-September 7, 2001.
Exhibitions and a telephone hot line will also enable people to comment on any aspect of the plans, which include details of roads, schools, new homes, tourism, transport and parking.
If objections to the plan's contents cannot be resolved, a Public Local Inquiry will be held when an Inspector from the Department of Environment, Transport and the Regions will be called in.
