Are CALA Homes' sales techniques a sign of desperation ?
The advertising banner hanging in the Tunbridge Wells Calverley Road Precinct has a clear pictorial message:
Do CALA Homes want to be seen as a developer building Regency Houses with a lot of green space ?
The reality is somehow different ! These are CALA Homes' flats which are for sale off plan on the crammed Norfolk Grange in Tunbridge Wells.
CALA Homes' vision of their 1930's seafront pastiche in Church Road, a major thoroughfare with noisy pubs.
Why did CALA Homes fail to seize the opportunity to reinstate Decimus Burton's historic landmark: the Trinity Church ?
Why did CALA Homes chop the trees and kill off the friendly tree-lined image of York Road ?
Why do CALA Homes choose not to show their future clients the views that they will enjoy on their Norfolk Grange development ?
The views for the part in York Road are the dinner tables of their neighbours opposite at 12 metres distance,
overlooking windows at around 6-8 metres from the Social Housing Block of 8 dwellings (blanked out in CALA's brochures), and
the views on Church Road are the trucks and congestion on the thoroughfare and Europa House / Wellington Gate, which was described by the planners as 'grotesquely ugly'.
Are CALA Homes so desperate to find clients for their "rotten apple" that their campaign needs to be "beefed up" as they go?
